An MOT test covers all the key safety and roadworthiness checks required by law. This includes brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, emissions, seatbelts, wipers, mirrors, and structural integrity. It does not cover the engine internals, clutch, or gearbox.

If your vehicle fails, you generally have 10 working days to carry out the repairs. If the repair work is completed by us, a free retest is included within that period. If you take the vehicle elsewhere for repairs, a retest fee will apply, and the work must be completed and the vehicle retested within the same 10-day window. After 10 days, a full new MOT will be required.

If your MOT has expired, you cannot legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The only exception is if you are driving it directly to a garage to have the failed items repaired.
